The Guardian ad Litem and Rehabilitation Office was established in May 2003. It is a nationwide Guardian ad Litem service to advocate for and promote the best interest of children involved in Court proceedings.

Through a mediation process, childrens wishes and best interests are considered a priority in any judicial separation proceedings. A trained professional mediator from GALRO will engage with the parties to promote the best interest of the children and/or vulnerable adults in settlement negotiations.

GALRO also provide individual needs-led support in the community and co-ordinate community support inputs. Some clients referred to GALRO do not fit the criteria for entry to most main stream or special services. We provide occupational guidance assessment, rehabilitative needs assessment and individual one-to-one mentor support.

GALRO employ a range of skills, which include professional case managers, rehabilitation therapist, social worker and barrister together with a team of social and economic integration support staff.
